Just another Learnerblogs.org weblog
Just to get this off my mind…
Nowadays all my friends seem to talk about;
Which is the newest shirt in their closet
What their crush did to make them pout
Which mall they’re planning to shop at
I’m sick of seeing girls act that way
They dress to impress the boys
It’s sad to see the youth in us fade away
We’re all growing up, some faster than others
If my friends hear or see me with a certain guy
Who’s the closest guy friend I’ve ever had
They’ll come close, they don’t even try to spy
They want to catch every word and every action
I have a question no one seems to be able to answer
Why can’t I just be friends with my best guy friend
Without doing something against our better
Judgement, against what we don’t want to do?
My friend is the kind of guy that can make me
Laugh out loud, even when I’m really sad
We could not see each other for months, but be
The best of friends in an hour when we do
Hey Allyson!
ok i can totally understand where your coming from but everything you listed is just a part of being a girl. It’s ok to shop in malls and gossip about guys and still be friends with them too! I think your right but there hast to be a midway point between your side and the side of your friends, maybe you should try to find it. Just a suggestion,

Allyson,
I can understand that your friends aggravate you some times, but why insult them all in public? Everything that you charge them with are things that nearly everyone does, you have to get around that and see the better sides of a person. I would think before you trash your best friends next time.

Allyson,
I think its fine that your venting but I think maybe you participate in your friends action, too? I mean we’re all just teenagers and it’s going to take us a while to be less superficial. It’s a good poem.

Allyson,
I understand where your coming from-about your friends. Everyone is growing up, including you. Maybe your not ready yet, and are having a hard time excepting it. It’s a good poem and I hope you talk to your friends and work it out.

Allyson,
Although I am a boy, I know what your talking about. Why can’t we just be friends, why does gender matter?
Overall, great poem.
Hey Allyson, this poem is great.
I comepletely agree with it. Why cant guy friends JUST be guy friends? Without people assuming there’s something else going on? This poem makes perfect sense. AWESOME!!!
I really liked this. Everything about it is realy true. I aso liked the rhyming.
Good job

Allyson,
I have also been through the same problem as you have. I do agree that it becomes obnoxious once people start throwing around explanations to why you are hanging around with a boy. It’s actually a bit immature I have to admit, but I find it hilarious that some people think that once you hang out with a guy, it means that you have a crush on each other. At least you realize how irritating it can be when people make up things.
Allyson,
I have been through the same situation as you have. It can be obnoxious when people think you have a crush on a boy once you start talking to him. It’s actually a bit immature, but I usually find it hilarious how some people don’t understand that girls and guys can be just FRIENDS. At least you realize how irritating it can become.
